Commanding top reviews and guests who return year after year, the Mount Cinnamon Resort & Beach Club has the feel of a boutique hotel, yet the facilities of an expansive resort.
Set on a hillside in tropical gardens at the southern end of Grenada’s most famous beach – Grand Anse – the resort is nestled amidst a picture-postcard scene, spoiling guests to their own beach club just a short amble below.
Service is personal thanks to the fact the hotel is family-run, and that there are just 37 luxury suites and villas, each of which has a veranda with stunning Caribbean views.
Here there are all the facilities one would expect of a top Caribbean resort, such as an outdoor pool and spa treatments, but there’s some surprise additions too, like the Montessori kids’ club and the garden games.
Everything from the restaurant menus to the bedroom design celebrates Grenada, creating an atmosphere that is authentically Caribbean and a holiday to remember.

Stay
Views of Grande Anse are enjoyed from all of the resort’s villas and suites, while inside the vibe is distinctly Caribbean cool, with local artwork, bright, tropical colours and roomy al fresco areas for enjoying a drink.
All accommodation, except for the Cinnamon Suites, has a sofa bed and fully-fitted kitchen with washer and drier; ideal additions for families.
Air conditioning is a feature of all suites and villas, though the “eco-friendly alternative” of sitting on the veranda while the trade winds cool you down might be more appealing.
Luxury toiletries, Bose television and a nightly turndown service are also included as standard.
Eat
Feel immersed in Grenada at the Mount Cinnamon’s eateries: Savvy’s and Beach Cabana.
Savvy’s is laidback with a focus on local fare, open all day with views of the sea. Think pumpkin risotto with Jerk scallops and lime essence for dinner and freshly baked banana bread for breakfast.
In the lush gardens and directly on Grand Anse Beach, the Beach Cabana is open from 10am until sunset, offering barbecue fare, snacks, tacos and of course rum punch. There’s often live music here too.
An in-room pizza menu is available for when your private veranda is calling.
Explore
Mount Cinnamon is just a 15 minute transfer from the island’s international airport, with direct flights from London.
A day or two set aside for exploring the island is certainly worth the time, whether it’s a round of golf, a plantation tour, a dip in a waterfall pool or a guided tour around one of Grenada’s stunning rainforests. In fact, a fifth of the island’s terrain is preserved as a national parkland or wildlife sanctuary.
At sea there are opportunities for scuba and reef diving, boat trips, game fishing and whale watching.
Why here?
Watersports are available at the Beach Cabana, including kayaks and paddle boards, as well as masks and snorkels for exploring the clear waters off the beach. Diving can also be arranged nearby.
The swimming pool and private Beach Club offer dreamy settings to chill in the Caribbean sun.
Daily yoga classes are a highlight, with different practices to pick from. There is a fitness centre and beach volleyball court too.
The Cinnamon Spa offers treatments in the privacy of your own accommodation, or at the beachside open-air cabana. Treatments include hot stone massage and the Cinnamon Signature Massage.
A Montessori kids’ club and children’s programmes are available for younger guests during the holidays.
The concierge can arrange everything from babysitting to grocery stocking.
Our take
The hotel has a strong conservation ethos and one of the ways it plays its part locally is as a sponsor of Dive Grenada’s Grand Anse Artificial Reef Project; the first purpose-built artificial reef in Grenada that aims to support the island’s delicate marine ecosystem.
Give a holidaymaker a massage and they’ll relax for a day. Give their partner massage skills and they’ll relax their entire lives. Mount Cinnamon’s Two-to-Tango experience at the spa teaches couples the stress relieving techniques that release tension, regulate blood pressure and boost the immune system.
