With just 102 villas and suites it feels personal and intimate, yet with oodles of space for guests to find a quiet spot to call their own.
The private beach is a dreamy setting or there are two outdoor swimming pools to mix up a place in the sun. In addition, almost all of the accommodation here has a spacious outdoor area with a seawater private pool so there’s always somewhere peaceful to doze under the Greek sun.
Decor is light, bright and contemporary, with seascape artworks and cobalt upholstery to mirror the Cretan skies. Dining explores local flavours with favourites from around the world to boot, with settings by the sea and pool for al fresco fare.
Facilities for families include menus for children at the restaurants and access to the mini-club at the neighbouring sister hotel, while the spa features pregnancy massages for mothers-to-be.
Nana Princess is a chic beach resort for a Crete holiday in style and a great base for exploring this stunning Greek island.

Explore
The resort is set adjacent to sister property the Nana Golden Beach Hotel on a peninsular just outside of Hersonissos on the north of the Greek island. This pretty location enjoys its own private beach lapped by blue waters and is perfectly located for exploring the island of Crete.
Take a trip to the island of Spinalonga; pop into Hersonissos for dinner at a taverna; visit the archaeological site of Knossos; wander around the Museum of El Greco; or enjoy a round at the nearby Crete Golf Club, the first 18-hole course on the island.
Why here?
The 1,400-square-metre Nana Princess Health Club and Spa has an indoor heated pool, hammam and steam room, alongside a state of the art gym with all the very latest equipment. Beauty treatments including hairdressing and manicures are available and there is a selection of spa therapies that give a real sense of place, like the King Olive Massage using Cretan olive oil.
Tennis facilities are excellent with coaching available, with other fitness activities including mini-football, beach volleyball and excursions off site for golf, horse riding, hiking and scuba diving.
Little VIPs can join in with the fun at the mini-club at the resort’s sister, next door hotel Nana Beach. Here there are playgrounds, an activity room and an open-air amphitheatre showing supervised animation programmes.
Four shops and boutiques are on site for picking up a souvenir, holiday essential or a treat.
Our take
Recently tipped the best resort in Crete by Conde Nast Traveler, we reckon it’s the service here, as well as the little details, that have seen this hotel reach the top. At the private beach for example, personal items can be stored in the keyless ‘Boxaki’ which are fitted to the umbrellas and opened with each guest’s personal electronic bracelet, while drinks and snacks can be ordered at the touch of a button. Then there’s the Nana Princess library, which has more than 1,000 books in numerous languages to peruse while you listen to live jazz.
Cycling holiday to Crete? Did you know that the hotel has a partnership with CyclingCreta which means bike tours and excursions led by experienced guides can take guests on a two-wheeled journey through the breathtaking island countryside with scheduled stops along the way?
