Eat
Guests of the Sani Resort have access to all of the 22 restaurants on site, with each of the five hotels featuring their own places to wine and dine.
At Sani Asterias there are two dining concepts. Water Restaurant is the resort’s flagship restaurant, in co-operation with three Michelin starred chef Mauro Colagreco. Open for three meals a day, the menu is Mediterranean in style, leaning specifically towards French fare. With multiple awards to its name Water Restaurant is often placed as one of the finest dining venues in Greece, noted not just for its menu, but also its service and wine cellar.
Over Water Restaurant is a high-end version of Water Restaurant, open only during the evening for guests over 12 years old. Again the menu is created by Chef Colagreco; think risotto of wild mushrooms and Greek truffle from the Cholamondas Mountain followed by grilled swordfish steak with a Mediterranean salad and tomato-oregano pesto. Complete the experience with lemon tart accompanied by meringue, berries, ginger confit and Greek yogurt ice cream.
Explore
Boasting a superb position at the Sani Resort, Sani Asterias is just steps from the Sani Marina and set behind its own Blue Flag beach.
The resort is on the Kassandra peninsular in the Halkidiki region of northern Greece, renowned for its picture postcard beaches. The area is extremely easy to travel to from the UK, with plenty of direct flights into Thessaloniki airport. Greece is two hours ahead of the UK – fantastic if you’re travelling with small children – and the flight time comes in at around three hours.
Exclusively for Sani Suite Collection guests is the in-resort Volvo transfer service to make getting around the resort easier. Also included is a private chauffeur-driven tour of the peninsular, stopping to see the views of Mount Olympus.
Why here?
Blue Flag – the hotel is just steps from the private Sani Asterias beach – which is Blue Flag awarded – and as well as all the necessary comforts boasts lifeguards and a Babewatch service for families.
Chill time – The Spa Retreat at Sani Asterias offers in-room treatments using Anne Semonin products. There are also two private treatment rooms with a steam bath, a Couples’ Suite, and a Beauty Corner.
Get active – complimentary classes are on offer including yoga, Pilates, stretching and aqua aerobics. Activities such as family-friendly football matches and archery classes are also organised.
Discover Sani – there’s plenty included to support guests in exploring the locality. Experience the beauty of Halkidiki on a walk or guided jog of the lush forest trails around the resort, or set sail on a cruise from Sani Marina.
Our take
The Sani Resort is brilliant for providing choice, and if ‘chilling’ is at the top of your holiday To Do list then you’ll be able to pick from five spas, as well as mini-treatments on the beach. As a bonus Sani Asterias guests can choose to have a relaxing therapy in their own suite.
One of the many freebies that comes with being a Sani Suite Collection guest is a complimentary cruise which departs each morning and evening from the Sani Marina next to Asterias. We recommend the sunset option for an unforgettable experience.
