Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort, Portugal

Tivoli Carvoeiro Algarve Resort

Portugal
Having been recently redone to an exceptionally high level, this family-friendly luxury resort is just the ticket for a short-haul beach break on the Algarve in Portugal.

Nestled on a cliff-top on the Vale Covo, the resort commands stunning views of the sea, many of which can be enjoyed from the stylish selection of rooms and suites. Here you can make the most of the resort’s own beach, or explore the wider coastline on a day trip.

The expansive facilities tick every box; the Tivoli Spa, a vast fitness area, five restaurants and a bar, a children’s playground and both indoor and outdoor pools, as well as a kids’ pool. This setting ensures that there are tranquil, romantic spots to share for couples, as well as more lively areas for families with young children, with accommodation to reflect the needs of both, from suites with a Jacuzzi to those with a sofa bed for children.

With 300 days of sunshine, golf courses aplenty, a short few hours’ flight and beaches in abundance, the Algarve is a superb holiday destination for UK travellers.

Our take

Only reachable via the sea, the Benagil Sea Cave is a Travel Seen must-visit when staying on the Algarve. Hailed by the travel press as one of the region’s best natural attractions, we recommend upping the romance with a visit here at sunset.

Another Insta-worthy spot is Praia dos Estudantes in Lagos, where a Roman-style bridge connects the coast to a rocky outcrop.
