Top 5 Places to Eat in Dubrovnik

Be wowed by what’s on the menu at these top eateries in the stunning Croatian city of Dubrovnik…

The Croatian city of Dubrovnik is one of those rare destinations which ticks all the boxes.

There’s fascinating history and ancient sites to explore. The hotels are chic, modern and walking distance from the main attractions. There’s coast and beach for sunbathing and boat trips. And of course there are restaurants to savour the fare of some of the country’s finest chefs.

At Travel Seen we often recommend Dubrovnik for a luxury city break in Europe. So if you’re lucky enough to be heading there for a weekend or longer, check out these top restaurants we think you just have to try...

1. 360 Dubrovnik

Probably the city’s most talked about restaurant – and therefore booking is essential – 360 Dubrovnik has it all; the setting, the top local chef and a Michelin star.

There’s seating along the medieval walls and fortress of St John with views of the sea. Tables indoors look into the mastery at work in the kitchen. Ingredients and inspiration are taken from Croatia and the Med, with French flare and technique.

Traveller @bear_abroad says: “360 was awarded its first Michelin star in 2018 and has kept it ever since. The food speaks for itself and if you love a Michelin tasting menu as much as I do then you won’t regret your visit to 360.

“Make sure to book well in advance though and ask for a table overlooking the sea. My boyfriend booked 360 for my birthday and if you speak to them in advance they will make you a special birthday cake as an amazing extra dessert.”

2. Victoria Restaurant and Lounge Bar

“Sublime is the only word I can use to describe the food and wine at Victoria,” says Travel Seen’s Sarah. “The menu is Peruvian Adriatic fusion and will just blow your mind it’s so creative. Everything tastes so incredibly fresh and the combinations of quinoa, avocado and lime with locally caught shellfish are just scrumptious. Oh and how could I forget the view?! It’s worth booking a table here for that alone.”

Victoria Restaurant and Lounge Bar is within the Villa Orsula, a sister property to the Hotel Bellevue. Booking is essential, and it is only open for evening meals.

3. Prora Restaurant

In fact, you really can’t go wrong with any of the restaurants featured in the Adriatic Luxury Hotels collection in Dubrovnik.

When @bear_abroad stayed at the Hotel Excelsior (adjacent to Villa Orsula) she rated its main restaurant Prora: “It’s perfect for a casual lunch by the sea or a smart/casual sunset dinner. We had both lunch and dinner at Prora and the food was lovely. If you make a dinner booking then time it so you can enjoy your aperitif whilst watching the sunset.”

Prora is also open to those who aren’t guests of the hotel.

4. Nautika Restaurant

Follow this restaurant on Instagram and prepare to spend the next twenty minutes drooling over the photos...

“If you love fine dining in a romantic setting then this is the place to go,” says @bear_abroad. “Nautika restaurant has such a romantic atmosphere and the food is amazing. We had one of their set menus and loved every bite of it. The service is also great, everyone was so friendly.

“My top tip is to make sure you book a table on the terrace so you can overlook the Adriatic.”

The menu focuses on fish and can be downloaded from the Nautika website so you can peruse it at leisure before you arrive.

5. Vapor Restaurant

The main restaurant of the Hotel Bellevue is listed in the Michelin Guide and has recently had a significant facelift.

“On the terrace there is often live music, which teamed with the view just makes for the most dreamy of settings for dinner,” says Travel Seen’s Sarah. “I had the asparagus soup followed by the octopus and both were super tasty.

“I was really impressed with the wine pairings too. Just perfect to accompany what I ordered.”

If you’re staying at the hotel then there’s no better way to start the day than with the buffet breakfast at Vapor, sat on the terrace with the sound of the waves crashing on to the shore below.
